For modifications please follow the below steps to amend your stay period (depending whether you booked with hostelworld, booking.com or our website):

Hostelworld / Website: please send us an email at hello [at] madinahostel.com mentioning your booking number.

Booking.com: please amend your dates through the booking.com platform / app. If you run into issues please send us a message through the booking.com platform / app.

Cancellations are free of charge if placed 48hrs before the check-in day. If placed within 48hrs prior to arrival, the first night is charged. In case of no-shows the total amount of the reservation is charged.

We offer to arrange a transfer to the hostel from any of the locations you are arriving. Just let us know in advance.

AIRPORT:
Unfortunately, there is no reliable public transportation from the airport to downtown Cairo. Alterantively to our services, you may take an Uber or taxi service that is offered at the airport.

BUS STATION: Depending on which bus you will be arriving in Cairo, there are several bus stations. The most common bus company is GoBus and their closest stop to Madina Hostel is “Tahrir” which is a 12min walk or 5min taxi ride. Note: when walking you have to cross several large roads.

TRAIN STATION: There are 2 trains stations in Cairo: Giza and Cairo. The Cairo Main Station at Ramsis is the closest to Madina Hostel and a 10min taxi ride away.

Check-in is anytime after 12.30pm, also throughout the night since our reception operates 24/7. So late check-ins are not a problem.

Early check-in at night are not possible. Please book the night before so to be able to check-in upon arrival. Otherwise check-in is from 12.30pm.

Checkout is at 11.30am. Unfortunately, we do not offer late check-out for a fee.

You may pay by credit card (at no extra cost) or in cash (USD / EUR / EGP), which ever you prefer.

Our breakfast is freshly prepared per person and served between 8-11am. It is a mix of varying local and international breakfast options, for example:

• Selection of eggs (scrambled, boiled, or omelet, as to your preferences)
• Egyptian oriental options (cooked beans, falafel, babaghanou, …)
• Cheese, jam, honey
• Mashed potatoes
• Bread (not glutenfree)
• Yogurt
• Fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables
• Freshly made juice (mango, strawberries, orange)
• Coffee and tea is always available free of charge

Early breakfast is possible upon request at least 24hrs before. For late breakfast please check with the reception team and they’d be happy to arrange it for you.

Provided free of charge:

• Towels and linen
• Hairdryers in the shared bathrooms
• Wi-Fi
• Lockers in dorm rooms

Not provided:

• Shower gel and shampoo
• Locks for lockers in the dorm

We offer laundry service and the reception team will be happy to assist you. It costs 5 EGP/piece and includes washing, drying and folding.

We offer free luggage storage, in case you need to store your luggage before check-in or after check-out. For overnight storage, please book your storage slot here. Your bag will be safely stored and insured during the period.
