Are you open and operating?

Yes, we are open and looking forward to being able to host curious travelers again. To check availability and prices, as well as to book, please click on the booking button on the first page.

Are there any restrictions in place in light of COVID-19?

We are closely monitoring the situation in the hostel in regards to occupation and the possibility of social distancing. Our large community areas offer opportunities to keep distance. We also developed an in-depth hygiene concept, taking into consideration regular deep cleanings and frequent desinfection of highly touched surfaces. Our breakfast is served for each guest individually.

Do you have a special refund / rebook policy due to COVID-19?

Yes, as the situation is very dynamic and not predictable for neither our guests nor us, we offer flexible solutions such as changes in booking dates or refunding in cases you booked with us directly. In case you prefer to book through a third-party websites, please check their cancellation policies.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 48-hour cancellation policy, which means you can cancel without fees until 4pm CET two days before your arrival. If the booking is cancelled after this time, you are charged 25% of the first night of your stay.
Group bookings (bookings for more than 4 persons) can be canceled without fees until 4pm CET four days before your arrival. If the booking is cancelled after this time, you will be charged 50% of the first night of your group stay.

Is the hostel located near the city center? How do I get to the hostel (at night)?

The hostel is located right in the heart of Downtown Cairo, 500m off the Nile and a 2 minutes walk from the Egyptian Museum and Tahrir Square. You best reach it by taxi, for example when coming from the airport. There are well known landmarks around, as for example the Steigenberger Hotel just across the street. We are also happy to arrange an airport pick up or assist with transportation in general during your stay. If you are running into trouble you may contact us at anytime.

Do you serve breakfast?

We offer a breakfast daily from 8-11am to all our guests. An early bird basic breakfast can be provided upon request, also for take away.

Are linen/towels included in the room price?

Yes, both linen and towels are included in our prices. You will find everything ready upon your arrival.

I forgot something at the hostel. Can you send it back to me?

If we find lost items we contact the concerned guest and are more than happy to support you in getting it back. Shipping charges must be covered by yourself and may differ according on weight, size and delivery time-frame. Generally we keep the items for one month, and after hand them over to the concerned authorities (eg embassy in case of passports and other IDs).

What are reception hours?

The reception is open 24/7/365, where our staff is happy to support you in your adventures and concerns.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 12.30pm, check-out until 11.30am.
Free early check-in starting from 8.30am depends on availability at the time of your arrival. Check-ins until 6am will be charged the night.

Can I stay past check-out time the day of my departure?

You are welcome to spend some time with us in the common areas, as well as use the bathrooms and kitchen after your check-out. In case you would like to keep your room, you may do so until 6pm with a fee depending on availability.

Can I store my luggage before check-in / after check-out?

Of course. We may keep your luggage for a couple of hours before your check-in or after your check-out. Liabilities of your belongings remain with you.

Can I store my luggage overnight while I am out of town?

You may store your luggage overnight or for a longer period for $1/Night/piece. Contact us for further information regarding your individual case. we take no responsibility for your belongings

Is it possible to request a specific private room or dorm bed?

Yes. It is possible to request a specific room, however, we cannot guarantee the requested room will be allocated. In any case we are always trying our best, so itโ€™s definitely worth asking.

What is the minimum period of stay? Do you have a maximum period of stay?

We do not have a minimum period of stay. In case you are staying only for the day, we may charge half the price if a room is available. If you are staying longer than 6pm, you will have to pay the night.

Do you accept group booking and offer discount prices?

Yes, bookings with 4 or more people are considered group bookings. We do offer a discount in these cases, which is negotiable. Contact us ๐Ÿ™‚

Can we bring friends to the rooms / common areas?

Your friends are welcome to join us in the common areas until midnight. According to the Egyptian laws and regulations guests who are not checked-in are not allowed in the rooms at any time.

Are hair dryers provided?

Yes, you may lend one at the reception desk.

Is there a washing machine?

Yes. We can do your laundry for you for $5/load or you may do it yourself for $3/load (5-9pm).

What equipment does the kitchen provide?

The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas oven and stove, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Utilities such as pans and pots, sharp knives, cutting boards, bowls, cutlery, cups and mugs are of course provided. While basic spices give you a head-start, you can find everything else you may need for purchase in nearby stores and local markets.

Is there an elevator?

Yes, it takes you right to our door on the 10th floor.
